Guru Gobind Singh ji (Gurmukhi: ਗਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ) (Friday, January 5, 1666, in Patna, Bihar, India - Thursday, 21 October, 1708) was born "Gobind Rai" and was the tenth and last of the ten human form Gurus of Sikhism. He became Guru on November 24, 1675 at the age of nine, following in the footsteps of his father Guru Teg Bahadur ji.

Before Guru ji left his mortal body for his heavenly abode, he nominated Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji (SGGS) as the next perpetual Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh molded the Sikh religion into its present shape, with the formation of the Khalsa fraternity and completion of the Guru Granth Sahib as we find it today, which some will say was his greatest act.

"If we consider the work which (Guru) Gobind (Singh) accomplished, both in reforming his religion and instituting a new code of law for his followers, his personal bravery under all circumstances; his persevering endurance amidst difficulties, which would have disheartened others and overwhelmed them in inextricable distress, and lastly his final victory over his powerful enemies by the very men who had previously forsaken him, we need not be surprised that the Sikhs venerate his memory. He was undoubtedly a great man." (W, L. McGregor)

The tenth Guru (teacher) of the Sikh faith, was born Gobind Rai. It may not be out of context to say here that throughout the chronicles of human history, there was no other individual who could be of more inspiring personality than Guru Gobind Singh.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji infused the spirit of both sainthood and soldier in the minds and hearts of his followers to fight oppression in order to restore justice, peace, righteousness (Dharma) and to uplift the down-trodden people in this world.

It is said that after the martyrdom of his father, Guru Tegh Bahadur, the tenth Master declared that he would create such a Panth (Sect) which would challenge the tyrant rulers in every walk of life to restore justice, equality and peace for all of mankind. As a prophet, the Guru is unique.

His teachings are very scientific and most suitable for all times. Unlike many other prophets he never called himself God or 'the only son of God.' Instead he called all people the sons of God sharing His Kingdom equally. For himself he used the word 'slave' or servant of God.
"Those who call me God, will fall into the deep pit of hell. Regard me as one of his slaves and have no doubt whatever about it. I am a servant of the Supreme Being; and have come to behold the wonderful drama of life."

"God has no marks, no colour, no caste, and no ancestors, No form, no complexion, no outline, no costume and is indescribable.
He is fearless, luminous and measureless in might. He is the king of kings, the Lord of the prophets.
He is the sovereign of the universe, gods, men and demons. The woods and dales sing the indescribable.

Shree Guru Ram Das Ji (Gurmukhi: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ) (Friday October 9 1534 - Saturday 16 September 1581) was the fourth of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and became Guru on Monday 16 September 1574 following in the footsteps of Guru Amar Das ji. The Guru's original name was Bhai Jetha. Before Guru Ji died, he nominated his youngest son as the next Guru of the Sikhs - Guru Arjan Dev. He established the city of Amritsar.

Gurbani: The Guru contributed a total of 688 Shabads/hymns to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

The fourth Sikh Guru contributed the following to the people of the world:

Author of Laava, the hymns of the Marriage Rites
Designed the Golden Temple(Harmandirsahibji)
Planned & created the township of Ramdaspur (later Amritsar)
Organization Structure of Sikh Society.

Early Life

Very little is known about the early years of Guru Ram Das Ji. Guru Ram Das ji was born at Chuna Mandi Bazaar, Lahore at the site of the present shrine on 24th September 1534 where he spent the first seven years of his life. Soon after birth, he was given the name Jetha, meaning the first born. When he was of 7 Years his father died so her maternal grandmother took him to Basarke, near Amritsar. Jetha's simple and God-fearing parents, Hari Das and Anup Devi of Lahore were delighted at this precious gift from Waheguru. As he was growing up and in his teens, he could always be found in the company of religious men. Jetha became a handsome young man.

Company of Guru Amar Dasji

One day Jetha came across a party of Sikhs who were on their way to Goindwal to pay homage to Guru Amar Das. Jetha decided to join them and also travel to Goindwal. Upon their arrival and meeting, Guru Amar Das at once noticed the young Jetha with his pleasant manner and sense of devotion. While his fellow travelers returned to Lahore, Jetha decided to stay and become a disciple of Guru Amar Das.

Bhai Jehta worked hard in Goindwal in the various construction projects that were taking place. Guru Amar Das was very impressed with the Sewa performed by Bhai Jetha and susequently a marriage was arranged between Bibi Bhani, his daughter Bibi Bhani and his dedicated devotee, Bhai Jehta.

The marriage took place on 18 February 1554. After their marriage, the couple remained in Goindval which was an upcoming Sikh town and carried out voluntary service (Sewa) in the construction of the Baoli Sahib (sacred well), serving the Guru and the congregation (Sangat).

Sewa of Guru Amar Das ji

Jetha became a trusted disciple of Guru Amar Das ji. He undertook many sewas and also successfully represented Guru Amar Das ji before the Mughal royal court to defend charges by some jealous Hindus who had taken exception to some of the wording of the Sikh teachings, saying that Sikhism maligned both the Hindu and the Muslim religions. The following is a translation of what Jetha said in the Court of Akbar:

"Birth and caste are of no avail before God. It is ones deeds which make or unmake a man. To exploit ignorant people with superstitions and to call it religion is a sacrilege against God and man. To worship the infinite, formless and absolute God in the form of a totem, an image or an insignificant time-bound object of nature; to lead people to beleive that they can wash away their sins, not through compassion and self-surrender, but through ablutions; to insist upon special diets-what to eat and what not to eat; to say that a certain language and dress allows accesss to God and to condemn masses of human beings, men, women and children, to the status of sub-humans, who are not even allowed to learn to read the scriptures that they are told rule their lives; never allowed to enter a house of worship; who are allowed to do only the lowest degrading work, is to tear man apart from man. This is not religion nor is it religion to deny the world by becoming an ascetic, for it is in the world alone that man can find his spiritual possibilities."

Impressed by the tenets of Sikhism as explained by Bhai Jetha Emperor Akbar dismissed all of the charges.

Construction of Ramdaspur

Eventually Bhai Jetha was ordained as Guru Amar Das's successor and named Guru Ram Das ji. (Ram Das means servant of God). Guru Ram Das ji now eagerly continued the building of the city of Ramdaspur (the abode of Ram Das) by the digging of the second sacred pool as he had been instructed by Guru Amar Das ji. Pilgrims came in ever growing numbers to hear the Guru and to help in the excavation work of the tank. The holy tank would be called Amritsar meaning pool of nectar. Today the city of Ramdaspur, which now is the holiest center of Sikhism has come to be know as Amritsar. Guru Ram Das ji urged his Sikhs that one could fulfill one's life not merely by quiet meditation, but by actively participating in the joys and sorrows of others. This is how one could also rid oneself of the prime malady - Ego, and end their spiritual loneliness.
One of the new entries into the Sikh fold at this time was Bhai Gurdas Bhalla, the son of the younger brother of Guru Amar Das ji. Bhai Gurdas ji was a superb poet and scholar of comparative religion who would later go on to become the scribe of the first edition of the Guru Granth Sahib ji. Guru Amar Das ji was impressed with Bhai Gurdas's existing knowledge of Hindi and Sanskrit and the Hindu scriptures. Following the tradition of sending out Masands across the country Guru Amar Das ji deputed Bhai Gurdas to Agra to spread the gospel of Sikhism.

Bani of Guru Ram Das ji

There are 688 Hymns of Guru Ram Dass included in Guru Granth Sahib which have various teachings for sikhs. Guru Sahib's Bani is also part of Rehras Sahib and Kirtan Sohila which are daily prayers of Sikhs. Page 305 of the Guru Granth Guru Sahib decries the morning activity of one who calls himself a Sikh of the True Guru (God):

One who calls himself a Sikh of the True Guru shall get up early morning and meditate on the Lord's Name. Bathe daily in the ambrosial pool and following the Guru's instructions, chant Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased.

Guru Sahib on Sadhu People and Pilgrimage Bath

ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਗੋਦਾਵਰੀ ਸਰਸੁਤੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਹਮਰੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਮਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥
Malaar, Fourth Mehl: The Ganges, the Jamunaa, the Godaavari and the Saraswati - these rivers strive for the dust of the feet of the Holy. Overflowing with their filthy sins, the mortals take cleansing baths in them; the rivers' pollution is washed away by the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||1||

ਤੀਰਥਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਨਾਈ ॥ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰੀ ਉਡਿ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਭ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Instead of bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, take your cleansing bath in the Name. When the dust of the feet of the Sat Sangat rises up into the eyes, all filthy evil-mindedness is removed. ||1||Pause||

ਜਾਹਰਨਵੀ ਤਪੈ ਭਾਗੀਰਥਿ ਆਣੀ ਕੇਦਾਰੁ ਥਾਪਿਓ ਮਹਸਾਈ ॥ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੁ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਗਾਊ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
Bhaageerat'h the penitent brought the Ganges down, and Shiva established Kaydaar. Krishna grazed cows in Kaashi; through the humble servant of the Lord, these places became famous. ||2||

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਦੇਵੀ ਥਾਪੇ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਲੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
And all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage established by the gods, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy. Meeting with the Lord's Saint, the Holy Guru, I apply the dust of His feet to my face. ||3||

ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਤਨੀ ਲੋਚੈ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥
And all the creatures of Your Universe, O my Lord and Master, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy. O Nanak, one who has such destiny inscribed on his forehead, is blessed with the dust of the feet of the Holy; the Lord carries him across. ||4||2||

Anand Karaj

The standard Sikh marriage ceremony known as the Anand Karaj is centered around of , a four stanza hymn composed by Guru Ram Das ji. During the marriage ceremony the couple circumscribe the Guru Granth Sahib ji as each stanza of the Lawan is read. The first round is the Divine consent for commencing the householders life through marriage. The second round states that the union of the couple has been brought about by God. In the third round the couple is described as the most fortunate as they have sung the praises of the Lord in the company of saints. In the fourth round the feeling of the couple that they have obtained their hearts' desire and are being congratulated is described.

Guru Ram Das Sahibji composed a beautiful bani called Laavan about the meaning of marriage to a Sikh couple – Effectively, the Guru defines a Sikh marriage in these 2 lines: "They are not said to be husband and wife who merely sit together. Rather they alone are called husband and wife, who have one soul in two bodies."

Guru Sahib on Jogis

ਹਥਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਥੋਥਰ ਵਾਜੈ ਬੇਨ ॥ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਜੋਗੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਭੇਨ ॥੧॥
You may pluck the strings with your hand, O Yogi, but your playing of the harp is in vain. Under Guru's Instruction, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, O Yogi, and this mind of yours shall be imbued with the Lord's Love. ||1||

ਜੋਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਤੀ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ॥ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਹਮ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
O Yogi, give your intellect the Teachings of the Lord. The Lord, the One Lord, is pervading throughout all the ages; I humbly bow down to Him. ||1||Pause||

ਗਾਵਹਿ ਰਾਗ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਖੇਲੈ ਖੇਲ ॥ ਜੋਵਹਿ ਕੂਪ ਸਿੰਚਨ ਕਉ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਉਠਿ ਬੈਲ ਗਏ ਚਰਿ ਬੇਲ ॥੨॥
You sing in so many Ragas and harmonies, and you talk so much, but this mind of yours is only playing a game. You work the well and irrigate the fields, but the oxen have already left to graze in the jungle. ||2||

ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਮੈ ਹਰਿਆ ਖੇਤੁ ॥ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਬੈਲੁ ਮਨੁ ਜੋਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿੰਚਹੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜੇਤੁ ॥੩॥
In the field of the body, plant the Lord's Name, and the Lord will sprout there, like a lush green field. O mortal, hook up your unstable mind like an ox, and irrigate your fields with the Lord's Name, through the Guru's Teachings. ||3||

ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਜੋ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਤੁ ਚੇਲ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਪੇਲ ॥੪॥੯॥੬੧॥
The Yogis, the wandering Jangams, and all the world is Yours, O Lord. According to the wisdom which You give them, so do they follow their ways. O Lord God of servant Nanak, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, please link my mind to You. ||4||9||61||

Guru Ram Dass on Benifits of Reciting God's Name

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਬਲਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
Aasaa, Fourth Mehl: Join the Sat Sangat, the Lord's True Congregation; joining the Company of the Holy, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. With the sparkling jewel of spiritual wisdom, the heart is illumined, and ignorance is dispelled. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਚਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਹਮ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਧੋਵਹ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
O humble servant of the Lord, let your dancing be meditation on the Lord, Har, Har. If only I cold meet such Saints, O my Siblings of Destiny; I would wash the feet of such servants. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਇਛਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
Meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O my mind; night and day, center your consciousness on the Lord. You shall have the fruits of your desires, and you shall never feel hunger again. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬੋਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥ ਸੇਈ ਸੰਤ ਭਲੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਥਾਇ ॥੩॥
The Infinite Lord Himself is the Creator; the Lord Himself speaks, and causes us to speak. The Saints are good, who are pleasing to Your Will; their honor is approved by You. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਨ ਰਾਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਿਉ ਆਖੈ ਤਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਵਣਜਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੬੩॥
Nanak is not satisfied by chanting the Lord's Glorious Praises; the more he chants them, the more he is at peace. The Lord Himself has bestowed the treasure of devotional love; His customers purchase virtues, and carry them home. ||4||11||63||

Meeting with Sri Chand

When the aged son of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Baba Sri Chand, who had chosen to become an ascetic (Baba Sri Chand was the founder the 'Udasis' sect), came to visit Guru Ram Das ji he asked him why he kept such a long beard? Guru Ram Das ji replied; "To wipe the dust off the feet of holy men like yourself" and then he proceeded to perform this supreme act of humility. Seeing this Sri Chand held his hand and embraced Guru Ram Das ji saying; "It's enough. This is the kind of character by which you have deprived me of my ancestral heritage. Now, what more is left with me that I could offer you for your piety and goodness of heart?" (Outraged that his father Guru Nanak had chosen to pass the Guruship to Guru Angad Sri Chand had attempted to install himself as the second Guru of the Sikhs and had hoped to alter the direction of Sikhi that Guru Nanak had chartered.)

Prithi Chand's deception

Guru Ram Das's first cousin Sahari Mal came to invite the Guru to visit Lahore in connection with the marriage of his son. The Guru being much too busy with his work promised to send one of his sons instead. Guru Ram Das ji asked his eldest son Prithi Chand to attend on his behalf, but he refused. Prithi Chand found a reason to avoid the trip, perhaps, he feared that his father would, in his absence, install his youngest brother, Arjan Dev as the next Guru. Prithi was sure that Arjan was the favorite son of his father. Next the Guru asked his next eldest son Mahadev to attend the wedding, but Mahadev was a recluse and excused himself on the ground that he was not interested in the affairs of the world. The Guru therefore asked his youngest son Arjan Dev to attend, which he agreed to do with such grace and humility, that Guru Ram Das ji was very pleased.

Guru Arjan Dev Letters

Arjan Dev ji proceeded to Lahore where, his father had asked him to remain until called for and to take charge of the needs and education of the Sikhs in Lahore, his father's ancestral home. Two years later, feeling intensely homesick, Arjan Dev composed a poem of love and devotion and sent it to Guru Ram Das ji. This poem along with another one, sent a few month's later were intercepted by his elder brother Prithi Chand who made sure his father never received them. Finally Arjan wrote a third poem marking it with the number 3 and gave strict instructions to the messenger to give it to the Guru personally.

My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.

It cries out like the thirsty song-bird.

My thirst is not quenched, and I can find no peace, without the

Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint. ||1||

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice,

To the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint Guru.

Receiving this poem, Guru Ram Das ji seeing the number 3 sensed that there must have been two earlier letters. Aware of the jealousy of his eldest son he confronted Prithi Chand, asking him if he knew anything about previous letters. At first, Prithi Chand denied everything, but seeing the insistence of the Guru and the consequences of his refusal to obey him, he finally confessed his treachery and produced the two earlier letters. (Another story often told has the Guru sending someone to Prithi Chand's quarters who finds the letters in Prithi's clothing.) When Guru Ram Das ji read them, he was moved to tears by the humility and sincerity of his son Arjan's compositions.

Gaddi to Guru Arjun Dev and Death (Jyoti jot samaye)

Guru Ram Das ji immediately sent for Baba Buddha ji to journey to Lahore and to bring back his son Arjan Dev with full honours. On his return the Guru declared him his successor. Prithi Chand's deception had resulted in bringing about his fears, he never accepted his father's choice and continued to misbehave and abuse Guru Arjan Dev ji. Eventually Guru Ram Das ji had to publicly condemn his son Prithi Chand for his actions.

Shortly thereafter Guru Ram Das left his physical form on September 16, 1581.

Babiha, or chaatrik or Papeeha and many more references have come in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji for this amazing bird, who cries during the hot days of summer and waits for the rain to quench his thirst. This bird's crying call sounds like "Pee-Kaha", meaning, "Where is my Love?"...

Babiha or the Brain-fever Bird, as they call in Bird Dictionary. It is also called a Hawk-cuckoo bird, due to its looks similar to that of a Shikra Hawk...

However, the traits of both birds are not similar... the Babiha is known for its shrieking calls starting from Spring till the rainfall... The calls frequency keeps on increasing as the day for the monsoon approaches... the calls during the final stages are so filled in cries, that one may feel that the bird is dying if it does not get the sprinkles of rain!

No wonder, why this amazing bird has been referred so many times in Guru Granth Sahib Ji, so that one can imagine the pain of love with being away from God that Guru describes in the stanzas, is just as the Babiha is without the rain-water!

The Papeeha or Babiha is crying day and night when its thirst grows, and is in deep hope that the rain-water will quench its thirst! The similar scenario is being drawn for a lover of Truth, who is crying to get the glimpse of the Eternal Truth, the GOD.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Punjabi: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ, Vaisakh Vadi 7th, (19th Vaisakh) Samvat 1620 (15 April 1563 – 30 May 1606) was the fifth ( Panjvi Patshahi) of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism. He was born in Goindval, Punjab, India, the youngest son of Guru Ram Das and Bibi Bhani, the daughter of Guru Amar Das. He learnt Gurmukhi script and Gurbani from Baba Budha ji. He was also given a suitable education in Persian, Hindi and Sanskrit languages. The child (Guru)Arjan Sahib often talked of God and loved to sing His songs.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji was sweet, humble and a perfect blend of devotion and sacrifice. He was hardly 18 years old when his father Guru Ramdas Ji installed him as the Fifth Nanak( Guru). He was married to Mata Ganga ji and had a son (Guru) Hargobind Ji. He became the Guru of the Sikhs on 1 September 1581 after the death of his father Guru Ram Das.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji completed the work on two sacred tanks (Sarowars) Santokhsar and Amritsar. He got the foundation stone of Harmandir Sahib, laid by a Muslim Saint Hazrat Mian Mir Ji of Lahore on 1st Magh, Vikrami Samvat 1644 (December 1588). After the completion of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Guru Sahib completed the construction of Santhokhsar.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji was head of Sikhism for a quarter of a century and accomplished a lot during his regime. He completed the construction of Amritsar and founded other cities such as Taran Taran and Kartarpur.A house for lepers was also built. He also laid the foundation stone of the town Kartarpur in Doaba region (near Jalandhar city). He constructed a Baoli in Dabbi-Bazar of Lahore. (Once Shah Jahan destroyed the Baoli and erected a mosque there. But later on Maharaja Ranjit Singh re-excavated the Baoli. Again, after the partition of India in 1947, it was demolished by the Musilm mob). Guru Sahib also established another town, Hargobindpur on the river Bias and sunk a big well for irrigation at Chheharta, a few miles away from Amritsar.

The most important work of Guru Arjan Dev Ji was the compilation of Adi Granth. He collected all the work of the first four Gurus and dictated it in the form of verses in 1604.

It is, perhaps, the only script which still exists in the form first published (a hand-written manuscript) by the Guru Ji. It and the Guru Granth Sahib Ji which includes the writing of the later Gurus have managed to avoid the embellishments, additions and alterations that have plagued the original writing of other more ancient religious texts.

In order to strengthen the cult of Sikhism he toured far and wide about five years throughout India. He also stayed sometime at Wadali (now it is called Guru-Di-Wadali near Amritsar city). To consolidate and extend Sikhism, Guru Arjan Dev Ji done a great and monumental work. After collecting the hymns of first four Guru Sahibs and several other Hindu and Muslim Saints, and compiled Guru Granth Sahib Ji (written by Bhai Gurdas Ji). Guru Sahib himself contributed about 2000 verses for it, installed it at Sri Harmandir Sahib on Bhadon Sudi 1st Samvat 1661 (August/September 1604), and made Baba Budha Ji as the first Granthi. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji proved a great landmark in the history of Sikh Nation. It created a sensor of religious separation from the Hindus and the Muslims. Now the Sikhism began to develop as a different religion. Once the emperor Akbar was mislead about the contents of Guru Granth Sahib Ji by the enemies of Guru Arjan Dev Ji. But finding nothing objectionable, the emperor Akbar assessed Guru Granth Sahib Ji as "The greatest Granth of synthesis, worthy of reverence".

During the period of Guru Arjan Sahib the Amritsar city became the central institution where all the Sikhs used to gather annually on Baisakhi and the Massands began to deposit the collected offerings from the different parts of India in Guru Sahib's treasury.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji organised the Masand system, a group of representatives who taught and spread the teachings of the Gurus and also collected the Dasvand, one-tenth of a Sikh's income (in money, goods or service) that Sikhs paid to support the building of Gurdwara Sahib, the all important Guru ka Langars (free communal kitchens) originally intended to share with sense of love, respect and equality, still an important element today in any Gurdwara.

The Langars were open to any visitors and were designed from the start to stress the idea of equality and a casteless society. The land that Amritsar is built upon is believed to be a jagir (estates gifted to individuals under the Mughal system which included one or more villages and often a portion of the crops produced on the land) given as a gift by the Emperor Akbar, who was impressed by the practice, after sharing a meal in the Guru's communal kitchen, seated on the floor among commoners.

For the first time the Sikhs began to call Guru Arjan Dev Ji as "Sacha Patshah". The number of Sikhs began to increase day by day and this made the orthodox Hindus and princely Muslim class more jealous towards Guru Ghar (Sikh Nation). Guru's elder brother, Prithi Chand made an alliance with Sulhi Khan (a revenue officer), and planned to harm and harass Guru Sahib. But Sulhi Khan died by his sudden fall in a live brick-klins. The orthodox Hindus and the fundamentalist Muslims (Shekh Ahmed Sirhandi, Birbal and Chandu) were some of the most jealous of Sikh community and Guru Arjan Dev Ji . After the death of Akbar in 1605 both Hindu and Muslim fundamentalists move the new head of state emperor Jahangir against Guru Sahib. Jahangir himself was also jealous about Guru's propagation of Sikhism. He promptly obliged the enemies of Guru Sahib. Many baseless allegations were leveled against Guru Sahib, one of those was helping the rebellious Khusro. Guru Arjan Dev Ji was arrested and brought to Lahore where he was charge-sheeted and implicated in the false cases. The Governor of Lahore was assigned the task of the execution. He handed over Guru Sahib over to Chandu, a petty businessman and an orthodox Hindu of Lahore city. He tortured Guru Sahib about three days in a manner unknown in the history of mankind. It is said that Mian Mir (a Muslim Sufi Saint and friend of Guru Sahib) tried to intercede on behalf of Guru Sahib but the later forbade him. During the torturing period, Guru Sahib was made to sit on the hot iron plates and burning sand was poured over his naked body. When his body was blistered, he was chained and thrown into the river Ravi. Thus Guru Sahib embraced martyrdom on Jeth Sudi 4th (1st Harh) Samvat 1663, (May 30, 1606) Jahangir in his autobiography acknowledges that he personally ordered the execution of Guru Dev Ji. The martyrdom of Guru Sahib changed the entire character of Sikhism radically. The Sikh Nation naturally looked upon this as the bigotry and cruelty of the theist Muslim state and the orthodox Hindus towards the newly born, peace loving Sikhism.

BHAI MANJH

Introduction

In the time of Guru Arjan Dev ji, there was a powerful, wealthy Rajput by the name of Teeratha. Teeratha was a follower of the Muslim sect of Sakhee Sarvar. As the local leader of the sect he had hundreds of followers who all respected him. Teeratha would regularly lead the members of this sect on a pilgrimage to the main Sakhee Sarvar shrine, now in Pakistan.

Meeting the Guru

Once when passing through Amritsar, Teeratha decided to visit Guru Arjan. He had heard that there was a great Guru who had a large following and this Guru was spiritually enlightened. He was curious to know who this Guru was and what he would say. He decided to stop off and see the Darbar of Guru Arjan. When he saw the Darbar, he saw that people of many different backgrounds, and castes were all sitting together and living in harmony. He also heard the kirtan in the darbar and the kirtan left a permanent mark on him. He heard of the great gift of naam and the thirst to have this gift rose within him. He was the leader of hundreds of Sakhee Sarvar followers but he could no longer follow that path. He realised that Sikhi was the path he must follow.

At the Guru's Darbar

He came to Guru Arjan Dev ji and introduced himself. Guru jee knew how rich and powerful Teeratha was and when Teeratha begged for naam and to be initiated into the Sikh faith, Guru ji replied, "Being a Sikh is no easy thing. The path is finer than a hair and sharper than the khanda. The primary principle of Sikhee is humility." Teeratha again repeated his request. Guru Arjan Dev jee then said, "Why do you want to be a Sikh? You are a rich and powerful man with hundreds of followers. You can continue on the easy path of Sakhee Sarvar, because the Sikh path is very hard. If you become a Sikh, you will lose your followers and all their respect and you will lose your wealth as well. You may even have to pay for this decision with your life. What use is there in becoming a Sikh for you?"

But Teeratha was insistent he begged that nothing mattered. If he lost everything it would not matter, he needed naam. With tears in his eyes he begged for naam. Guru Arjan Dev jee accepted his request and initiated him into Sikhee and gave him Naam.

Teeratha decided to not return home and took leave of his followers. He decided to stay with the Guru for some time. The Sikhs knew that Teeratha was from the Manjh clan and began to call him Bhai Manjh. Bhai Manjh did seva in the darbar and one day Guru Arjan Dev jee called him and asked him to return to his village and preach Sikhee to his old followers.

Return to the Village and Disaster

Bhai Manjh returned to his village and began the work of preaching Sikhee to the followers of Sakhee Sarvar. In his home, there was a shrine to Sakhee Sarvar which was revered by all the local followers. Bhai Manjh reached home and immediately had it demolished. Many of his old followers who had considered him a Guru heard Bhai Manjh's message that Guru Arjan was the true Satguru and the source of all happiness. They too decided to become Sikhs and began to recite baanee. Bhai Manjh and the new devotees of the Guru decided to build a Dharamshaala (Sikh place of communion) in the village where they could daily meet and do sangat.

While the construction of the Dharamshala was still going on, some Sakhee Sarvar leaders came to the village and saw that so many followers had become Sikhs. They spoke to Bhai Manjh and asked him to renounce Sikhee or face a terrible price. They said that he was powerful and a high official in the Sakhee Sarvar sect and he would lose all this if he did not come to his senses. Bhai Manjh sent them away and was insistent that he would remain a Sikh. The Sakhee Sarvar leaders left the village but heaped countless curses on Bhai Manjh and vowed that he would regret his decision.

Within a few days of this event, one night, all of Bhai Manjh's cattle died. It was unexplicable how all cattle could die in one night. In the following nights, cattle began to die in neighbouring houses as well. The villagers began to believe that perhaps the curse of Sakhee Sarvar was responsible and by becoming Sikhs and destroying the shrine, they had made a serious mistake. More and more cattle began to die each night and the villagers decided to break off from Bhai Manjh. They declared that they had nothing to do with Bhai Manjh and his new religion. They removed him from his position as village head. Bhai Manjh now began to lose his wealth as well and soon poverty entered his home.

Poverty

Before, poor and needy people used to come to Bhai Manjh to request for help and money. People would still come but he himself was living in abject poverty. Bhai Manjh had absolutely no extra wealth to give to anybody. Bhai Manjh was in a desperate situation and he decided to visit the new village head. Bhai Manjh offered his home to be rented out for some money so he could feed his family. The village head agreed to the proposal but added the condition that Bhai Manjh's wife would become his housemaid. His wife would be paid for her labour as well.

Bhai Manjh returned home absolutely shattered. He was once the most powerful man in the village and today he was being forced to make his wife a maid. When Bhai Manjh's wife asked him what the village head had said. Bhai Manjh hesitently explained the offer he was given. Bhai Manjh's wife listened and then said that in such hard times she too was willing to make sacrifices and if they had to lower their dignity by doing a job such as that of maid, then so be it. They had to marry off their young daughter and needed money to raise their family. Bhai Manjh's wife agreed to go work for the village head.

Bhai Manjh fell asleep that night in deep sadness. The next morning his wife would leave to begin her new job. He thought of Guru Arjan and wondered why the Guru would put his Sikhthrough such pain. How could the Guru allow him to see such days? Then understanding dawned: this must be the Guru's test. The Guru had said that he would have to sacrifice his all for Naam. Bhai Manjh was determined not to fail this test. He felt ashamed that he had ever questioned the will of the Guru.

Serving the Guru

The next morning Bhai Manjh's wife gathered her clothes and left for the village head's home. Bhai Manjh decided to also leave the village. He left for Amritsar with his daughter and decided to spend his time doing seva. Bhai Manjh began to take the seva of bringing wood for the langar, cleaning the dishes, serving the visiting sangat and any other seva he could find. The Guru too heard of Bhai Manjh's seva. He called Bhai Manjh to come see him.

Bhai Manjh and his daughter appeared before the Guru and bowed. They stood before Satguru Arjan and waited for him to speak. Guru Arjan asked, "Bhai Manjh, where do you eat?" Bhai Manjh replied, "Satguru, I eat from your langar…"

Guru Arjan jee then said, "well then, what you do is nothing but wage-labour isn't it?"

The sangat was stunned. They knew Bhai Manjh had sacrificed his entire wealth and prestige to become a Sikh and now did more seva than anyone else in the Darbar. Everyone wondered what Guru jee had on mind while saying this in front of everyone? After all, the Langar was open to everyone, why would Guru jee say such a thing?

Bhai Manjh was once a powerful and proud aristocrat with hundreds of followers. He now hung his head and then said, "Satguru, you are wise. Please give me the wisdom to understand and accept your Hukam." Guru jee did not reply. Bhai Manjh then bowed and took his leave with his daughter.

Bhai Manjh now decided to no longer eat in the langar. He decided to collect two bundles of wood from now on and he would give one to the langar and sell the other to earn his living and use it to purchase his food. Bhai Manjh's daughter asked her father why the Guru was so inconsiderate to him. Bhai Manjh immediately replied, "No no! The Guru is very merciful. He is testing our faith. We can not fail."

The Final Test

Bhai Manjh would rise early and begin to collect wood for seva and also to sell. After giving the first bundle and selling the second, the two would return to the Darbar and do seva all day. He would put all his extra money into the Golak. Guru jee once came to Bhai Manjh and asked why he still stayed despite being so poor and having lost everything. Guru jee said he should go home. Bhai Manjh replied, "Mahaaraaj, please never speak of having to leave your feet. Sachay Patshah, worldly wealth is a dream and so it comes and goes. Nothing is lost. I have lost my worldly wealth and found your true treasure of Naam. No thief will take this treasure from me and no King will seize it. " Guru jee gave his blessings to Bhai Manjh and moved on.

One day early in the morning when Bhai Manjh was going to the langar to give wood, such a dust storm arose that he could see nothing. Bhai Manjh stumbled and fell into a well. Day broke and Bhai Manjh still had not returned and everyone understood he must be in trouble. The Sikhs began to search for him and heard him call out from the well. One Sikh ran to Guru Arjan to tell him what had happened and Guru jee immediately dashed bare foot to the well. They threw a rope into the well and asked Bhai Manjh to pull himself out. Bhai Manjh jee called from the depth of the well, "Please, first pull the wood out for the langar! If they become wet, they will be of no use and not burn. If I am wet, nothing will happen." Bhai jee tied the wood bundle to the rope and had it pulled out. Only then did Bhai Manjh have himself pulled out.

When Bhai Manjh was out of the well, Guru Arjan was standing before him. Bhai Manjh fell at Guru jee's feet. Guru Arjan asked, "Bhai Manjh! What have you gained by following me? You have lost your wealth, your status, and even your wife. You have lost everything!"

Bhai Manjh held Guru jee's feet even tighter and with tears in his eyes replied, "No Satguru! I have not lost anything. I have only gained. Please don't push me away, this is my only request of you…"

Guru Arjan Dev jee then said, "Bhai Manjh, your seva has borne fruit. Ask for anything you want."

Bhai Manjh replied, "Guru jee, bless me that I may never want anything. May I always be content"

Guru jee replied, "It will happen as you request. But still, request something Bhai Manjh…"

Bhai Manjh then said, "If you are happy with me, then have this mercy. It is Kaljug. Please do not scold and test so harshly. May your Sikhs not have to bear such hardships."

Guru Maharaj again said, "This too will happen, but still request something Bhai Manjh."

Bhai Manjh finally replied, "May my consciousness remain at your feet and may I never forget the meditation of your Naam. If you wish to bless me, then bless me with gift of limitless faith."

Guru Arjan heard these words and then said, "Manjh is the beloved of the Guru and the Guru is beloved of Manjh. Manjh is the ferry of the Guru who will ferry across the world ocean."

Guru Arjan sent Bhai Manjh home and told him all had been returned. Bhai Manjh did not understand how this would be possible, but had complete faith in the Guru.

Everything Restored

Bhai Manjh's wife had been working in the house of the village head and she made such an impression on him that he decided to make her his sister. He requested that she take the responsibility of raising his only son. He also gave back Bhai Manjh's home where she could raise the boy. Bhai Manjh returned home and was informed of all that had happened and was stunned.

Bhai Manjh never left the support of the Guru. Even at the darkest time he had faith it was all a test and if he stayed firm in his faith, nothing would happen to him. Bhai Manjh was appointed the entire Doaba area to preach Sikhi and he opened a Dharamshaalaa in his home. The langar that Bhai jee opened was famous all around. Many people became Sikhsbecause of his parchaar. When Guru Arjan Dev jee came to visit the Doaba area in 1596, he made a point of specially visiting Bhai Manjh and praised him for his parchaar. Bhai Manjh' home at Village Kang Mai distt, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. There is Gurudwara Name is Bhai Manjh.

Bhai Manjh jee is the embodiment of faith and perseverance. Nothing in life could turn him away from the Guru and in the end, the Guru kept and protected his Sikh.

Many researchers liken burnout stress or see it as reaction to job dissatisfaction or low morale. In my view, burnout is a unique adaptation to a variety of work-related and other factors, a clinically observable condition related to but often different from job dissatisfaction or stress.

Burnout, in experienced people's view, is a type of existential crisis in which work is no longer a meaningful function. Burned-out workers may evidence high levels of apathy, depression, and lethargy - or they may not.

The unifying fator is that such individuals no longer view their jobs as meaningful or important. Rather, work has become tedious, redundant, and insignificant. Whatever the cause, the act of work itself no longer satisfies the intrinsic needsof the executive. Burned-out executives feel either little enthusiasm for their work or an all-encompassing fatigue, which may show itself in the form of boredom, depression, and a powerful sense of alienation.

Burned-out executives may superficially appear to function adequately, but a careful look at their work-related behavior suggests that quality, quantity, creativity, enthusiam, and true contribution to the organization are in jeopardy.

Burned-out executives typically voice feelings that their present job does not seem suited to their needs and that outside pressures, such as financial need or parental manipulation, have forced them to work in fields unrelated to their real interests. It is not unusual for executives experiencing burnout to share with others fantasies about work in a totally different field or a desire to quit work and travel.

Psychologists Herbert Freudenberger and Gail North have theorized that the burnout process can be divided into 12 phases, which are not necessarily followed sequentially, nor necessarily in any sense be relevant or exist other than as an abstract construct.

Displacement of conflicts (the person does not realize the root cause of the distress)

Mentha Piperata is also called as Pudina or Peppermint. Peppermint has a long tradition of medicinal use, with archaeological evidence placing its use at least as far back as ten thousand years ago.Peppermint (Mentha × piperita, also known as M. balsamea Wild.) is a hybrid mint, a cross between the watermint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata).Peppermint has promising radioprotective effects for cancer patients undergoing cancer treatment.Its oil is very useful.

Uses of its Oil

Peppermint oil is excellent for mental fatigue and depression, refreshing the spirit and stimulating mental agility and improving concentration. It helps for apathy, shock, headache, migraine, nervous stress, vertigo and faintness and in general respiratory disorders, as well as dry coughs, sinus congestion, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis and cholera. For the digestive system, peppermint oil is effective for a range of ailments, as it stimulates the gall bladder and the secretion of bile. It is used for colic, cramps, dyspepsia, spastic colon, flatulence and nausea and can relieve pain in cases of toothache, aching feet, rheumatism, neuralgia, muscular pains and painful periods. On the skin, peppermint oil is used to relieve skin irritation and itchiness and also helps to reduce skin redness, where inflammation is present. It is used for dermatitis, acne,ringworm, scabies and pruritus and also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin, while at the same time having a cooling action.

Precautions:Peppermint oil is non-toxic and non-irritant in low dilutions, but sensitization may be a problem due to the menthol content. It can cause irritation to the skin and mucus membranes and should be kept well away from the eyes. It should be avoided during pregnancy and should not be used on children under seven.

Summary:Peppermint oil can assist in nervous disorders and is dramatically effective in stimulating the mind and focusing concentration, for treating the respiratory tract, muscular aches and pains and for some skin problems.

"Paapi pet ka sawaal hai", "Pet (stomach) ki khaatir", "Pet paalna padta hai "," Pet ki aag" and many more uncountable proverb in hindi and many other languages you might have listened in my praise. People take my name disreputably like because of me they have to do shoddiness, good-bad works, I would not have existed in this world then there would be so much happiness.

I am well known by "Jathar", "Udar", "Amashaya", "Stomach","Tummy", "Belly" etc. But the who call my name may be don't even know that I am reserviour of food, the food which they eat I store that and due to my presence they take meal 2 times a day otherwise in my absence they might have to eat 6-8 times a day.

My name 'stomach' is derived from latin 'stomachus' which is derived from Greek word 'stomachos' from stoma (στόμα), "mouth". My main work is digestion.

I am a muscular, elastic, pear-shaped bag, lying crosswise in the abdominal cavity beneath the diaphragm. I can change size and shape according to position of the body and the amount of food inside. I am about 12 inches (30.5 cm) long and 6 inches. (15.2 cm) wide at widest point. My capacity is about 1 qt (0.94 liters) in an adult.

Food enters in me from the esophagus. The connection between me and the esophagus is called the cardiac sphincter. The cardiac sphincter prevents food from passing back to the esophagus. Heart burn is the sensation when my juices (gastric juice) is allowed to seep through the sphincter into the esophagus. Once the food enters inside me, gastric juices are used to break down the food. Some substances are absorbed by my muscle lining.My other end empties into the duodenum. The duodenum is the first section of the small intestine. The pyloric sphincter separates the stomach from the duodenum.

Food digestion time depends upon your mood also. Inside me, digestive enzymes are released in greater quantity if you like the food and if you are in a state of contentment and happiness. Production of gastric juices is curbed in case of intense pain, fear, or depression. Decreased quantity of enzymes is also noticed after consumption of large meals or large amounts of fat. Thus, secretion of digestive enzymes depends upon a number of things, for example, how you chew the food, whether the food is attractive, etc. It also depends upon your mood and emotions.

I secrete a acid to digest the food that we eat. This is a regular and natural process. Whenever we eat, cells within my lining pump acid to liquefy your sumptuous dinner, from mash potatoes to a slab of steak.

Problem occurs when these cells produce large amount of acid, more than I need. When this happens, you will suffer from my (stomach) acidity. You would know if you were suffering from acidity if you feel a burning sensation just above me, or right below (the hollow part) your chestbone. This is the most classic sign of acidity. Other people experience acid regurgitation. This happens when you are lying horizontal on your bed. You may have a sour taste in your mouth, which resembles the taste of an orange puree that had gone stale. Acid regurgitation oftentimes results to heartburn, or that pain near the heart area.

Most of the times, acidity is not caused by a serious medical condition. A person experiences attacks of acidity a few times in a year or at times even just once in a year. Sudden onset of acidity is usually triggered by foods that you eat. Fatty and spicy foods are harder to digest than most food; this, in effect, prompts the cells that pump acid to produce more acid than is necessary.

At last, I want to tell you one secret that friends, some food materials are my foe since birth, if I face them then I become so much angry. And I use my whole energy in fighting with them during which I secrete more amount of acid which can burn my enemy food materials.. but it is well said Angerness is biggest foe of a living being .. same happens with me because the acid which I secrete that burns my walls too ..

So friends, It would be better if you to don't take these foods .. such as Black pepper ( kali mirch), Mustard (Sarso), Coffee, Tobacco and Wine .. I request everybody please don't allow these materials to come in contact with me, because these are the things which I hate most. And same like this I hate nearby all medicines which creates a problem for me , especially painkiller medicines .. like Aspirin .. do you know ? excess amount of Aspirin creates wounds inside me and it is very injurious to me, due to which my body starts to bleed.

Moreover you people suffer from 'Acidity' and related problems and you take fruit salad or soda, but please don't do this, because the ingredient "Bicarbonate" present in it, spreads rapidly in blood and causes harm to your Kidney.

Perhaps, I am the only organ of your body which is used worstly by you. You put almost all eatable things inside me. But I sweep it again and again and I always give you next chance to eat royal meal.

If you will take small care of me but not eating the things, which I dislike then trust me I will become your good servant for life.

Hi friends.. day before yesterday I was having fever and when i went for sleeping, I was not able to sleep but at last slept anyhow ..

At midnight I got up and went near mom and said,

Mom, am I lovely child of yours ?

Mom replied, yes offcourse you are my lovely child !

And then went to sleep again :) hnmh.. even now I m 19 years old but the love with mom always remains like an infant :)

In this year ...one thing is happening with me ...I like my old things more than new ones ..love to read old letters ..love to see childhood pictures...even i don't like to give my very very old books ... some days ago..I got my fourth standard Science textbook...In that my name was written in aadhi-terhi ..childish handwriting ...lolz that was mine handwriting...my name was written with pencil..hnm..these days i kept that textbook on my study table..on top...daily i see that textbook...and a curve of smile comes to my face ...that textbook is precious than any other costly book in the world.. :)because I have so many beautiful memories with that when i was child .....hmn with this, these days I do read my English..textbook..hindi textbook of school...hmn love with literature is not old ... when I look back to those old things ...I understand them better than yesterday..the more i peep into past the more things I understand better ...hmn...I think that is why it is said ..Some minute things leaves strong impressions on us ..I m not getting appropriate words...but we have so much in past ...but today we are so busy that we even don't get time to peep into some old things ..I think, when, friends you all will look into your past ...it will give you so much of happiness due to minute things... :) ...I think when you will really look back to your life's some precious things ..you will understand them better now from then.. :)

Why people are so Egoistic?

Even we all know one day we will leave this material world ..and our good deeds and some memories will remain after us in the hearts of our loved ones then why people are having so much Ego that they are even not ready to talk politely ...Why?

Is that their Status or their Higher studies that they think themselves superior to others ? or they are very Harsh or Rude because they think they are Rich and poor person is nothing before them ? or Is that their Higher Post due to which they think themselves something Great and others Nothing ?

I m really messed up..In college also ..why our seniors talk to us very rudely and Why they are Egoistic ?

Why our teachers are very Egoistic ? Why they always want us to always agree with their thoughts even if they are wrong ? Why they can't become friendly? Why they love to dominate us ? Actually I dont understand why people dominate ?

The Mul Mantra is a fate killer. It removes the fate and changes the destiny to complete prosperity.

The FIRST pauri is an antidote to depression. It will lift you from the deepest depression, insecurity, nightmares and loss.

The SECOND pauri imparts patience and stability.

Hello friends, posting something after long time... hmn..i m having a thought which is bursting my mind ...how to turn Minus into Plus , How to turn from negative point of view to positive one, how to become from Zero to Hero? Everyone of us want to be successful , want to live a good , happy life ... We all always want everything ..but do all of us really live the life we dream ? If not then what is the reason behind ?

Ok one question..

What you think ...What is meant by happiness? Exactly what happiness is?

Just give a minute to think about happiness...

In this 21st century ...what is happiness for people is ...They live simply and ordinarily, they work in order to live and end up forgetting to live . They believe that person's happiness is in possessing more, eating well and living longer. More than work, money, comfort, name, fame, and so on ..

BUT

We are essentially human to live, to laugh, to love and simply remain a good person.

Always remember, that happiness is no continous performance. Real Happiness comes and goes and it does not linger or last long. Rest of time, we wait happiness. And when it comes, we are not ready to accept it and live with it !!

The longer we live, more certain we are that enthusiasm is the secret of success. The difference between those who succeed and fail is neither wide nor striking.

If we take example of two co-workers..and they have equal talents, the one who is enthusiastic will go up higher. The one of the second rate ability with enthusiasm will often outstrip the one with first-rate ability but without enthusiasm.

The winner is not invariably who has the most, but he is always the one who gives the most. he knows that it is when we have given more than we were asked, that we have given our best.

George Bernard Shaw said " I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances and if they can't find them, they make them."

Afterall one great writer wrote, "Life's battles don't always go to stronger or faster man; but sooner or later the man who wins, is the one who thinks he can."

And we all know the Golden words by Alexander "I Don't believe in taking right decisions" I take decisions and make them right. :)

In short , the thing is everyone of us has within us that which is necessary to remake the world. The principal motivational force to accomplish this requires only personal commitment to dedicate ourselves to the process of living our life fully. We need to set a goal that we simply must reach, then build the fire of burning desire under it . The measure of our success is not dependent on how much talent we have but how much talent we use. Remember. That nine-tenth of iceberg is under water and one-tenth is above water. So is our potential submerged waiting to be developed and used !!!

People complain about things outside themselves blaming their conditions and circumstances and even their parents and lineage for what they are. They forget that : " Good thoughts bear good fruit; bad thoughts bear bad fruit because man is his own gardener".

There is nothing like luck and chance to succeed in life. A saying sums up: "A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all this thoughts."

I n each of us, there is a reservoir of energy, creativity and innovation just waiting to be tapped. It is there and when it works, it is awe-inspiring.

When we are engaged in meaningful work we are naturally more effective. When we love our work, we are involved in the process, continually hoping for positive outcome. If our goal is to make a crore of rupees that may not happen but the inner satisfaction that we tried for it is our highest reward!

Learning to live in the present is a valuable skill. Living in the moment is exciting which makes an impact on our way of thinking. each of us has control over our way of thinking. Each of us has control over our own belief system and our own attitude.

The old saying is very true: "If you always do what you have already done, you will always get what you have always gotten." Think of the acrobat on the Trapeze. He wants to grab the second Trapeze but he has to let go the first Trapeze. When he leaves the first, he is hanging for a split second. That moment seems to last forever. Ultimately, he grabs the second Trapeze and his confidence is revived and restored.

William Shakespeare wrote a few lines on contentment: "My crown is in my heart; not on my head; not decked with diamonds and Indian stones. Not to be seen; my crown is called content." All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim having fixed their gaze on a goal which was high and which sometimes seemed impossible!!!

Sorrow of separation from Guru

Farid Ji , when experienced the sorrow of separation, he said-

ਏਹ ਦੁਇ ਨੈਨਾ ਮਤ ਛੂਹੋ ਪਿਰ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਿ ਆਸ||

Bhai Nand Lal Ji crossed all the limits while depicting sorrow of separation-

ਬੁਢਾ ਹੋਇਯਾ ਜੋਬਨ ਖੋਇਯਾ

ਬੈਠ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ||

Bhai Nand Lal ji says that in the temple of age (human body is addressed as a temple of age), I have become old.

ਅਛੀ ਰਹੀ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ

ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੀਤੀ ਚਰਣਾ ਅੰਦਰ||

He is of the view that the time spent in the company of noble sould, is a heavenly blessing, rest all are dark nights, So he is of the view :-

ਜਵਾਨੀ ਗਯੀ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਆਇਯਾ ਉਮਰਾ ਲਗੀ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ |

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲੇ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ|

So a true devotee always feel sorrow of suffering . Mother Bhag Bhari from kashmir was experiencing this feeling while sewing dress for the sixth Guru Hargobind Saheb Ji. This feeling exalted her. The Guru was beside her during her last breadths. This is why ' vairaag Bhagti ' has been described as supreme because there is immense power in ' vairaag '.

ਬਿਰਹਾ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਤੂ ਸੁਲਤਾਨੁ ||

ਫਰੀਦਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਸੋ ਤਨੁ ਜਾਣੁ ਮਸਾਨੁ ||

Meaning : Many talk of the pain and suffering of separation; O pain, you are the ruler of all.

Fareed, that body, within which love of the Lord does not well up - look upon that body as a cremation ground.

'Vairaag Bhagti' is really great. One may not bring tears in one's eyes deliberately but the tears of sorrow of separation wash many sins.

At time of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Bhai Saida experieced ' Vairaag' and Guru Gobind Singh Ji helped him liberate his soul for good. Bhai Saida Ji was a hard working Sikh and used to ferry boat. He was not greedy. He was not under the influence of money or material things . Every Gursikh should try to avoid the influence of money and material things.

Hello Friends, Today Going to write something about my study plans ..

hmnn.. My Inner voice says me ..heay look its high time now. You have quite long break. Now start Studying. Yeah I can Do it ..this time .. I'm having Whole one month in my hand ..for completing 5 subjects thats enough .. 2 are main ..remaining 3 are very easy .. I know I have very long break I'll do that easily.. and I just start making study Timetable in nice writing ..with beautiful decoration on neat and clean page .. with new pen lolz ... and finally I end up writing that timetable, and warn myself "look this time u have to do".

This was a tussle going on me and my mind. Actually our mind is not anything different from us, but then there are always two sides of our personality - one being the philanthropist-type, which asks you to do all good deeds, study in time, acquire good habits, do a lots of hard work and make everyone proud of me etc...and other side is devilish one that makes us procrastinate everything, enjoy the present, reminds u how sleepy u r..lolz and how hungry u r after completing Herculean task of finishing one page of a chapter in a syllabus, and so on...

Whenever I try to concentrate on study ...my mind use to run more than anything ..and I start feeling that I dont have control over my mind ..like a horse my mind runs who reins have slipped from my hand and so its running HIGHWAY. And after sometime , then for going everything wrong , I quite sheeplishly blame my mind saying " I tried to concentrate but my mind got distracted by little things."

Every academic year , at beginning I make so many plans for sky rocketing scores ..that I 'll study hard and daily but this castles in air broke up and I rest on them and finally start studies during exam times .

When I was in school I use to make Timetable and always promised myself that I'll stick up to my timetable ..which is prepared with lots of efforts ..decorated with colors and while decorating and making that timetable I use to talk to myself a lot ..no no blue suits the most for History Subject ..arre and Green will be better for Geography ..ahahah .. and use to write that timetable with very beautiful Handwriting and so many things which I use to say while making this beautiful timetable .. which took lots of effort in making even more than studying ..hehe ... This was story of school. Now lets talk about college ..in Junior College I started " Save Paper" mission when I was in +1 ..I was knowing that I never followed my timetable and gave more efforts in making of timetable even than studying so that year I discovered an easy way to study ..I use to start with the easy subject ..and that was IT ..in which I use to do top in my class as well as in commerce class ( Actually IT was same for Commerce & Science class at that time) , I use to begin with IT thinking that once I get the tempo of studying, I can easily deal with the tougher ones( huh.. they were castles in air )lolz :)

But again in +2 , I started making timetables and still make timetables ..

And after the vacation the fact that I had around one month's preparation time before exams & sufficient time between 5 papers , 2 main and 3 others , my planning would made sense, if executed properly. But some scholar has rightly said, " The moment we sit for studying , everything else looks so important, even if it means simply staring at the wall." Everytime I held the book, I would start thinking of those umpteen skills that I needed to sharpen during my post-exam vacations and all those plans of life that have remained unexecuted till now.

And Finally, I would end up studying in the last two days before the exam, performing stunts like keeping wake all night with lots of backache, helping myself with tea to give me boost ... and these days practising new formula in sandwich of bread instead of fruit salad ...putting IODEX for waking ...sandwich of IODEX ...hahah

This is story of mine of every year ..I hope it'll continue in future :)

Hello friends.... Here's a story of an Eagle which gives inspirational message to Human Beings.

An eagle's egg was placed in the nest of a prairie chicken. The egg hatched and the little

eagle grew up thinking it was a prairie chicken. The eagle did what the prairie chickens

did. It scratched in the dirt for seeds. It clucked and cackled. It never flew more than a

few feet because that is what the prairie chickens did. One day he saw an eagle flying

gracefully and majestically in the open sky. He asked the prairie chickens: "What is that

beautiful bird?" The chickens replied, "That is an eagle. He is an outstanding bird, but

you cannot fly like him because you are just a prairie chicken." So the eagle never gave it

a second thought, believing that to be the truth. He lived the life of and died a prairie

chicken, depriving himself of his heritage because of his lack of vision. What a waste! He

was born to win, but was conditioned to lose.

The same thing is true of most people. The unfortunate part of life is as Oliver Wendall

Holmes said, "Most people go to their graves, with music still in them." We don't achieve

excellence because of our own lack of vision.

If you want to soar like an eagle, you have to learn the ways of an eagle. If you associate

with achievers, you will become one. If you associate with thinkers, you will become one.

If you associate with givers, you will become one. If you associate with complainers, you

will become one.

Whenever people succeed in life, petty people will take cracks at them and try to pull

them down. When you refuse to fight petty people, you win. In martial arts, they teach

that when someone takes a crack at you, instead of blocking you should step away.

Why? Even to block you require energy. Why not use it more productively? Similarly, in

order to fight petty people, you have to come down to their level. This is what they want,

because now you are one of them.

Don't let negative people drag you down.

Remember, a person's character is not only judged by the company he or she keeps but

also by the company he or she avoids.

Lord Buddha said ' Life is difficult'. What he meant was that we make it difficult through wrong thinking and wrong action. If thinking is correct, life will be smooth as silk without knots. Through negative thinking, we make life coarse and rough.

Therefore, the point to remember is that we have to programme our lives and give it a direction to reach a particular target.

Friends, from this what we get is...our brain is Plant and our thoughts are seeds..whatever we sow in the form of seeds.. we will ultimately get the same kindda plant from that seed and same kindda Fruits..

We are literally what we think. Our character is the complete sum of thoughts. what we think now, tomorrow and next month is what we will eventually become. Man is made , Remade and unmade by himself in the armoury of thoughts. man fashions the tools by which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy, strength and peace. Hello friends...In our lives ..we always ..want to be successful...we don't like clapping for others..we want that someone should clap for us.. we are also having same capability to that of person for whom we are clapping..Everyone have same capabilities but some recognize their powers and use them and others don't. Whenever we see a successful person lots of questions comes to our mind... What makes a person successful, how does one person find success while another person does not? Is there something in that person that prevents them from realizing their dreams, while in another person there is a set of principles that allow them to achieve success?

Is there a trick to all this? Can only a few people achieve what I am talking about or can we

all? Remember, there are two types of people in this world, there are those who do not try

and achieve anything, hoping that something good will happen, and then there are those

who do try and achieve things by having the right principles in place. These are the people

who succeed and go on to great heights.

What you resist persists, What you fear perseveres. This is something you need to understand because when you don’t try and make a change, and you only let what you fear rule you, it will stay around. You need to say “NO!” and you need to stop it. You need to stand up, rise up and make the change in your life.

The ability to change our lives is in all of us. We can change things and make things better

for ourselves. We need to stop waiting for outside influences to come along and change

things for us.

After a long time I am writing a blog post for my own blog. :) . Past few weeks, I was so busy with studies and learning etc. and these days exams are going on. But still I am not able to get rid of my "Love with C". Before the exam of Punjabi and PC computing, I was making C-Programs, instead of preparing those subjects. Well, because its good for me because the program i was wanting to write but never due to my exams i wasn't trying that. I thought i'll take time. But yesterday due to some happenings, I was little frustrated so I just sat in front of computer and started writing the old pending program. I totally involved in program and it gave me desired result. So woooooopy.. :)

Program was, WAP to find the sum of the digits of a given number. Here i wasn't knowing about how to calculate the sum of the digits of a number whose size is not give. Finally i reached at the solution and finished this program.

Thats early morning today ..haha ..today i m gonna give speech and for this i was thinking thinking..........thinking..and finally wrote speech completely... as this week was observed as Human Rights week...my topic was Dowry System... hmn.. and i m just looking over my conclusion...." In a nutshell we need to respect human life and its dignity which is gradually being snatched coricevely from women. Customs, norms and values cannot change in a blink of and eye but effective implementation of legislations is the need of hour....and in my view, Providing your daughter with solid education, and encouraging her to pursue a career of her choice is the best dowry any parent can ever give their daughter".. Hi everybody..today i am gonna write something about beauty..Inner beauty..our inner self..

In our daily life we come across various messages about what beauty is..Countless advertisements, models etc..define our concept of beauty. As a result we always and everywhere, try to be beautiful, and in the process a mirror becomes more personal to us than we are to ourselves.

What do you see when you stare at yourself in a mirror?

Do you see a kind person who goes out of his/her way to say and do nice things? Is the person staring back at you giving a friendly smile?or do u see ur face is black or fair?

True beauty begins within and it is how you feel inside. The person who is beautiful from within is blessed with an aura and fullness that beautification will never find. Beauty of our thoughts describe the person in better manner..noble thoughts and fine values makes up our true beauty and if they are literal they give life a better meaning. hmmmn...Author Mr.Scott Peck in the book ' A world waiting to be born' says that there is another world inside all of us in embryo form. It is a world based on love, inspiration, vision and imagination...that are beauty of our own thoughts.. but we focus on material survival i.e. earning money, acquiring things and finding later that most of the things acquired are out of date or useless. It is true that money is useful and essential but there are other things too which are important i.e. to be liked , loved and having a sense of belonging instead of possessing belongings.

There is a hero lying dormant within each of us. He is awakened in a crisis, disaster or fighting back to the wall. There are many instances in History when ordinary humans showed heroism, may be saving a child from accident on the road, or catching a theif when a cry or call comes, or putting out a fire where human beings are trapped. Heroism need not be demonstrated in a war but in a ordinary situations too. The hero's journey does not involve moving mountains. One can be a hero at home, at work or a public place. It is through the constant reinforcement of the winner's attitude that we can all become heroes. When we plant a tree and neglect to water it, the roots go deep in search of moisture. They become strong . Deprivation benefits comfort and ease weakens. The Bible talks about God making streams in desert, planting things where they were never before like love in place of hatred. These streams are real, because that is how deserts are converted into blooming gardens. Field Marshall Maneckshaw said, "Think great; visualize great, figure out greatness and be grateful always. Remove the layers of doubts and guilt , the masks and false beliefs. Why some people respond and react is because they sense the reward of it, desire the joy of it; feel the challenge of it; anticipate the favourable outcome of it."

A man spends his life slaving to get rich and why? Because he watched his father denying everything to himself to make the family happy and comfortable.

Ultimately, the cycle goes on and the suffering and sacrifice becomes a habit. We learn best by losing ourselves. Forget for the moment taking life damn seriously.. and just give time to yourself your thoughts .i.e. your inner beauty... Beauty is all about opening your heart and allowing that inner radiance, that divine quality that runs through all of us, to be exposed and shared with others..

As Deepawali is concerned ..in my view.. i believe it is the festival of lights not crackers.. Everyone has their own beliefs..

Lets talk something..and have an overview...guess what??..u read yourself ..

Soldiers took positions in trenches and fox-holes believing that they were fighting against the forces of tyranny. On the other side, Germans believed that they were fighting for Nationalism, ideals of bravery and duty to the fatherland. Throughout history men have been dying for their beliefs, right or wrong, and history records such events as inevitable..So dear friends its all about beliefs that whatever you do regardless of wheter fighting a war or celebrating Deepawali..all that which matters is your beliefs..

In the book 'Frontiers of Exellence' Robert Waterman says: "Today's leaders understand that you have to give up control to get results; they acts as coaches noy as boss", it is decentralization that helps to speed up results.

"People prefer to be led than managed" observed Field Marshal Slim. The Middle Road seems to be ideal path to reach desired goals. The new recipe for leadership revolves around 10 key areas namely ~ learning, energy(enthusiasm), simplicity, focus, inner sense , exude warmth(Familarityi.e. feeling of comfortable with all staff members and workers), delegate (Distribution of work according to particular worker's ability or skills), set an example, Be tough but be fair to all, and most important is TRUST~ be like a team and trust ur workers. Our deepest drive is the need for meaning and purpose in life. To be happy, life deserves a clear sense of direction. We need to connect something bigger and more important than ourselves. We need to feel that life stands or symbolises for something and in process, we are making a valuable contribution. We can be happy when we are working step by step towards community development, you are certainly growing. Nothing can substitute the joy of service. As it is truley said that "Service to man is Service to God". It is giving abundantly, instead of amassing for oneself. An educationist starts with teaching, then builds a school and ultimately a university becomes a reality. Anyone visiting a hospital will know how the demeanour of patient brightens when a visitor comes and says a few kind words. You give something to a man in need and see the tears of gratitude which perhaps is the best return and reward for simple good gesture.

In real sense, a person's life is judged by how it touches the lives of others. It is what we leave behind, that really matters. Whether we place our scripture , history, science reason or common sense, all evidence suggests that strong families can alone improve world or you can say can save civilisation.

We can control crime not by increasing the number of police stations or policemen but putting the right ideas into brains of growing generation~ i.e. preserve , protect and defend the family!!!

What i believe so Our imagination is our most valuable tool in creative process. The best way imagination is expressed is in dreaming..As it is said that "Dream BIG, Act BIG, and the Result will be BIG".

Anyways friends, i was gonna write about Deepawali and see what i wrote..haha just smiling at myself..hope that u might have got something from this post..

Hi Friends...today i am going to discuss something about prayer..

Take any religion of the world, prayer is an essential part in all. The highest privilege ever afforded to man is the power of prayer. In every religion there are different ways, different faiths of praying. The greatest longing in the heart of God is to talk to his children. Then why don't we pray?

God in his mercy has given only to human being, this gift of praying. No other form of creation has this precious gift. Every sin is forgiven, every stain is washed, all guilt diminished to the person who prays. Then why don't we pray?

Prayer has tremendous power. It can move mountains...it can make rivers crossable...the impossible things possible..Then why we don't pray?

Nothing is impossible to those who prays..Then why don't we pray?

Everyone can pray, the child, the young, the aged, the poor, the saint, the rich, the healthy, the blind, the weak, the ill, the sinner,the deaf, the beggar, the prisoner, in any village, in any city, in any state, in any country, in the world, in the universe, in any language, all can pray. Let us talk about teachers...remembered something...aah childhood days..from the word childhood i remembered prayer which our teachers taught us-You might have listen this shloka..

"Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu,
Guru Devo Maheshwara,
Gurur Sakshat Parabrahma,
Tasmay Shri Guru Vednamaha"

This shloka indicates great power which is also related with word "Teacher", teaching is passionate job, a job which has power to change the world.

The persons being in the career as a teacher should be proud to be that they have got opportunity to make the life of several pupil. It is because everbody lives for themselves, work for their own benefit, think of own motto..but there are very less people who thinks of others, who gives something to others, make the life of pupil beautiful and successful.i.e. Teacher. He/She plays a dynamic role in regard of future of the nation.

Whatever we are today and whatever we will be in future, in the sense teachers taught us alphabets, words moving to sentences.., even if today you are reading this blog because of your teacher, they taught us everything right from our childhood..

If you are taking teaching as your career then it is very important rather than being "teacher" to be an "effective teacher", if you want to be an effective teacher then the first and most important rule is to "be positive" reason is if you are positive then definitely you will leave positive impact on your students and gradually the surrounding becomes positive..and it seems that positivity is in air, but the thing is we need to catch it, extract it and most important is we should be positive and always try to spread it to your students, also it is very essential that you should have a genuine feeling of helpfulness.

Another thing which plays a vital role is your "Patience", and for this you need the mindset that you want to make the difference in life..Now the question arises that what shows that the teacher is "effective teacher"?? Isn't it???...The answer to this question you will get by your experience..better interactions with students is also one good sign...i.e. your students try to keep in touch with you while the academic year.

Teaching effectively will instill principles and character that will remain with students for a lifetime. The term "effective teaching" also includes being motivational and supportive. And never forget to encourage your students..Always show them positivity in life takes person in right direction, and it definitely leads the positive results...The essential things, role, character, positive thoughts, enthusiam, his/her supportive and helpful nature, patience, his/her encouragement to students, perseverance of teacher are the most important and true ornaments of teacher..and all of these never end...they goes on with your experiences in life.

Finally, got time to post something on my blog. Past few days, I was not in position to write my blog due to some health problems, eye test (Eyes were okay … woopyy), X-ray of my nose (got some septum problem), and main problem that occur, was about brain. Over stress over brain, so much work, studies, learning everything and busy schedule lead me to lack of concentration, it was feeling like that I was working on three things at once. OMG!! my brain was thinking every day , every night. And doctor suggested my to take rest and sleep tight. lolzzz.. i do yaar.. but don’t say me to take rest. Anyways he Gifted me a heavy bundle of medicines.

Anyways, Right now i was just writing some programs in C, learning Programming. All the day C-Language, JavaScript, XHTML/CSS etc .. this is my daily life.. wake up get ready for Office, then College and again Office and return home for Studying. A busy schedule. From Wednesday or Friday, I am gonna teach mathematics to few students. Seems interesting…?? yeah but some difficult too .. because its my first time to teach someone (of higher studies) and this will add more weight to my brain. :)

Opening poetbay, just pulls me to my past although i visit after gap of days. Why i look at that “Profile” ? Why i read those poems again and again ? why i found something new every time in those poems? Every time when i read those poems of Someone, I feel, I better understand these poems now from then. hmmm…… I am living the busiest life I ever IMAGINED , but still I get the time to think about that ONE. So ………

hello..friends..today i m gonna discuss here..something which matters in life..yeah..the short talk about success..exploring success and our potentials..and also some very little things in life..that makes a major difference.

Readiness for opportunity makes for success and the most commedy thing is opportunity comes by accident. The success does not depend on our talents but our skills to face and handle situations. From the neck down, very few people are worth a hundred rupees. From the neck upwards there is no limit to our worth. But the speciality of most of humans is they feed the lower portion and neglect the upper portion. Most of us feed our mind occasionally, accidently, a part of which has tremendous potential, promise and value. Feeding the brain is even more important than feeding the body.

People seeking success read books, regularly listen to motivaltional talks, and they take good inspiration from every new thing..and most important is they stay positive, and self-confidence also plays vital role here. From BONSAI, they become an Oak tree. From a Lilliput, they become a Gulliver. Remember, the Oak tree exposes itself to rain, faces storms strongly, bears the heat of sun, grows tall and strong. A 25 year old Harvard University by Phychologists established in precise scientific terms that we can change by changing the way we think about ourselves and our circumstances.

I remembered one story here..
As a young Scots boy, Andrew Carnegie came to America and started doing odd jobs. He ended up as one of the largest steel manufacturers in the United States. At one time he had 43 millionaires working for him. Several decades ago, a million dollars used to be a lot of money; even today it is a lot of money. Someone asked Mr. Carnegie how he dealt with people? Andrew Carnegie replied, "Dealing with people is like digging gold: When you go digging for an ounce of gold, you have to move tons of dirt to get an ounce of gold. But when you go digging, you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold."

What is your focus? Become a digger for gold. If you are looking for what is wrong with people or with things, you will find many. What are you looking for? Andrew Carnegie's reply has a very important message. There is something positive in every person and every situation. Sometimes we have to dig deep to look for the positive because it may not be apparent. Besides, we are so used to looking for what is wrong with other people and situations, we forget to see what is right. Someone once said that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Remember when you go looking for gold, you have to move tons of dirt to get to an ounce of gold. But when you go looking, you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold. Here the case is not about money..but the values..and we definately learn here one thing that if u set ur goal, desire..then noone can stop u..till reaching ur goal..here the main ingredient which shapes human behaviour is DESIRE, it is the desire that changes mediocrity into outstanding success, desire makes a little difference, little change in our attitude(positive)..and as we all know "Attitude is small thing, that makes a big difference" and as this little difference makes big difference..it leads to action, it has no stages , no steps, it knows only one thing , it watches only one thing and that is DESTINATION. Everyday we see some accidents, someone lying unconscious on the foothpath, road, park, etc. The majority ignore the person for fear of being questioned by the police. But, remember, that we are all human beings born to help each other. No one lives in this world alone. Help from others is essential to grow and become a complete person. Without the human touch, we are not human but a grown up animal. So, be human, stop racism, be good and attain success in living..there is one japanese proverb which says "None of us is as smart as all of us".

We all know the story of David and Goliath. There was a giant who was bullying and harassing the children in the village. One day, a 17-year-old shepherd boy came to visit his brothers and asked, "Why don't you stand up and fight the giant?" The brothers were terrified and they replied, "Don't you see he is too big to hit?" But David said, "No, he is not too big to hit, he is too big to miss." The rest is history. We all know what happened. David killed the giant with a sling. Same giant, different perception.

As we all humans took birth, then our life should be used up for this humanity..before we die..so know your true potentials..awake them..Love humanity..Love God..and most important try to be positive regardless of whatever situation it may be..

It is said that "The best use of life is invest it in something wise that will outlast life."

Hi friends, I read this prayer in one of book and found it very inspiring and words are full of pearls of wisdom so i thought to write here.. Oh Lord..

Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace with a vision of eternal reach of time.

Give me, amidst the confusion of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of nerves and muscles, with soothing music of singing streams that live in my memory.

Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking minute vacations…… of slowing down to look at a flower, to talk with a friend, to pat a dog, to read a few lines from a good book. Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and tortoise, that I may know that the race is not always to swift, that there is more to life than measuring its speed.
Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down, Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the starts of my greater destiny.

To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#.

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

So that if whenever your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but atleast you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

Now some of you might be thinking of gandiji's philosophy if one shoe felt from running train then throw your second one so that whoever will get that, the pair would be helpful, i don't oppose his philosophy he is correct at that appropriate situation.

NO these are two different kind of things if we will say that our mobile is stolen then what is the use of doing the above method?, so my dear friends if we will not do anything then the thief will be encouraged and he will keep on this acts of stole the mobile phones and the mobile phones thiefs will keep on increasing day by day as already it is, but as an individual living in society we should take some steps towards the welfare of society in which we are living today, so that from next time before steeling another phone that thief should remember his previous lesson.

If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialled even if the keypad is locked (except some exceptional cases eg. touchscreen etc.)

If your phone gets wet, or if you dial the numbers with wet hands, and water gets into buttons internal corrosion occur. Make sure your phone is dry, especially when it is switched on.

Extreme heat can cause damage to the cell phone electronics and the cell phone battery. Extreme cold can also cause a temporary loss of display screen.

Avoid using your device near strong electromagnetic sources, such as microwave ovens, sound speakers, TV, computers, and radio.

A man once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying

nearby.

Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"
"No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage."
The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked.
"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work. "Where are you going to install the idol?"

The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar fifty feet high. "If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there

is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.
The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."

The desire to excel is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not. "Excellence" is a drive from inside, not outside.

Hello Friends,

There are so many things in life which inspires us, they may be some wise short stories, poems, emails or short good SMS's which brightens our day and not only we feel good but with this good feeling a new inspiration comes to us, the wings of hope originates.

It is said that " A prayer, in its simplest definition, is merely a wish turned heavenward." Similar is the case with the word "HOPE", if you hope something truly, wholeheartedly, and you have the strong will that your hope must come true then its definite that you will work hard for your hope to come into existence, and with hardwork and determination in right direction everything is possible and the people who say that this xyz thing is impossible, for them i would like to say the word IMPOSSIBLE itself speaks that I M POSSIBLE and the people who follow up on these two words- hardwork and determination with a strong will and hope in their eyes are and will always come up with flying colors.

To transform a dream into reality, the important thing that matters here is we have to believe in ourselves and in our capacity to attain it. The presence of such a strong faith in the heart intensifies the emotion towards the achievement of the same. The intense emotion then becomes the driving force that will propel us to surmount all obstacles, both the expected and the unexpected.

Living each day with faith in ourselves will bring many unexpected surprises on our way. It will enable us to turn problems into procedures, to recognize responsibility as opportunity, and to see equal benefit in adversity.

Thus friends, these are some minute things by which we get inspiration in our day-to-day life and we start dreaming, we hope, and we work hard for whatever we want in our lives and also believe that you are as an active volcano and always give your best shot!! Our life will always be filled with challenges, and the best way is to admit yourself and decide to be happy in all situations, in other words i can say is take best out of everything.

Here is one such a short story which i want to share with u all-
A biologist tells how he watched an ant carrying a piece of straw which seemed a big burden for it. The ant came to a crack in the earth which was too wide for it to cross.It stood for a while as though pondering the situation and then put the straw across the crack and walked over upon it. What a lesson for us! The burden became a bridge to go forward to progress!

Old Gold Days

OMG!! Today its just fantastic. I just get few seconds to take breathe and i don’t know what came in my mind, I just logged in Poetbay and every moment and memories just refreshed my mind and i felt so easy and comfortable. I read the old & rusty poems of mine and some memorable poems of others. Since being untouched from Poetbay, got some messages from friends and also i read some old messages. The beautiful memories and saw the bookmarks that i ever saved. Read those bookmarked poems and commented on new ones. Some interesting “Pages” i read, now reached to 21. A beautiful text on friendship of India and Tibet.

Guru Arjandevji: Solace for humanity

Religious Granth (Guru Granth Sahibji) tells us that if we connect ourselves with Guru and follow satmarg, we can reach our desired destination. Because then our mind becomes pure, soft and we get rid from 'Lobh' 'Moh' and 'Ahankar'. We get godly blessings and paramanand also, we hear so many Puranik Sakhi's and one of them is relating to Guru Arjandev Maharaj's as under.

In Punjab at village Bhatinda there lived a Brahman by the name of Gangaram. He used to sell food items such as grain and bajra etc. He used to upload these food items on camel and move in various parts of India and used to earn his livelihood. Once, he went to Amritsar (Guru Ka Chakh) by crossing Sutluj and Vyas river and saw that Guru Arjandevji Maharaj (Fifth Guru) is constructing a sarover and so many Sikhs, Sevaks and labours are doing service by digging soil and carrying mud etc. but by doing so they also chant Satnam.

Gangaram felt that here all grain, bajra etc can be sold. He therefore saluted Gurudev from a distance and set his food tents little but away from where he could see all the activities of Guru constructing the sarover (lake). Gangaram saw that in the noon and night meals (Langar) was prepared for all.

One day he saw that no such langar was prepared. Out of curiosity, he asked the manager (Langri) why no langar is prepared today. Manager (Langri) replied that so many sangat comes for Guruji's darshan and give bheta in shape of money, grains etc. with which langar is prepared. But today there was no bheta and therefore no langar. Gangaram everyday used to see the seva and sangat chanting satnam and was very much impressed by that. On 2nd day also, there was no langar. Gangaram thought that this sarover (lake) is being constructed for common man and he should also contribute. He therefore approached langri and said that I have brought food items grains and bajra for sale and I want that you should utilize that in langar. Manager (Langri) in turn told all this to Guru Arjandevji and Guruji directed to take food items by weighing and told Gangaram that on Baisaki day sangat gives bheta and we will repay. Gangaram gave hundred maunds of bajra and langar was prepared. Next day also, Gangaram gave hundered maunds of bajra and langar was prepared. This continued for five days. In the meanwhile, the influenced Gangaram also participated in 'seva' and chanted satnam with which he felt spiritual happiness. On Baisakhi day, sangat from various places came to Guruji's darshan and offered much bhetas. After Baisakhi function was over, Guruji ordered langri to check the account of Gangaram and give his due amount. But now the mind of Gangaram has changed and he became pure by doing seva and chanting satnam. Gangaram with folded hands said that he will not accept any amount for five hundered maunds of bajra and prayed that it should be treated as bheta and allow him to live in Guruji's shelter. Guruji said panditji you accept the due amount plus 25% more because you have served us in time. You send this amount to your village or you may go in person to your village Bhatinda and enjoy with your family. You will get all blessings of Gurunanakdevji. With folded hands, Gangaram again said that I have now come in your shelter and have no desire of accepting the value. Seeing such determined mind, Guruji made him his disiple and directed him to chant satnam. The blessed Gangaram got godly powers riddhis and siddhis and lived in Amritsar. After some time Guruji directed him to go to his village Bhatinda and do simran of satnam. Gangaram came to village Bhatinda and made others also to do simran and whatever he said used to say became true.

Thus Guruji prepared so many such Gangarams who joined with prabhu simran and did satyavyavhar and made others to behave like that. The fifth Guru Arjandevji Maharaj lived in this world about 43 years and for humanity martyred on Jeshth Sudhi 4th Savant 1663 the equivalent date in this year is Wednesday May 27, 2009.

Hello friends, We know some students pursue their career in C.A. but we don't really know the detail information, No wonder that the C.A. is a high status proffesion and a passport to challenging and rewarding career in industry and commerce. Hence, here is some information about the career in C.A.
Chartered Accountancy offers a challenging career in the globalised trade, industry and economics scenario. The profession imparts the best technical skills in financial and management areas and abilities necessary for deciding and acting upon the high-pressure situations. C.A. today have occupied top management position in public as well as private sectors. They also render proffesional service as accountants and management consultants.
With the applicability of the new syllabus of C.A., a student can become a C.A. in a short span of 3.5 years after XII. This prestigious degree in Commerce stream can be achieved by a student belonging to any stream.
Here are the details for the gateway to one of the most admired degree in any part of world.

COMMON PROFICIENCY TEST(CPT)
CPT is an entry level test for chartered Accountancy Course. A student who has passed the class 10 examination may register for CPT.
It is test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours with a break betn. CPT is an objective type with negative marking.

Eligibility requirements for appearing in CPT Examination
A registered student is entitled to appear in CPT after he has appeared in 10+2 examination. A student need to pass std. XII exam to appear for CPT. However, a specified period of 60 days should expire from the date of registration to appear for CPT.

Passing Criteria in CPT
A student has to obtain minimum 50% of total marks(.i.e. 100/200) for passing CPT.

Subject for study according to marks distribution
Fundamentals of Accounting (60 Marks)
Mercantile Laws (40 Marks)
General Economics (50 Marks)
Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks)

NEXT STEP AFTER PASSING CPT
After passing CPT and 10+2 examination, a student may join the C.A. course.
Education of C.A. is divided into two levels : Proffesional Competency Course & Final Course
There is a concurrent articled training of 3 and half years.
After passing CPT and 10+2 examination, a student has to take admission to Professional Competence course and simultaneously register for articled training and register for 100 hours of IT training.

Professional Competence Examination (PCE)
A candidate can appear for PCE only when-
(i) He has Passed CPT
(ii) He has worked for atleast 18 months as articled assistant prir to first day of month which examination is held; and
(iii) He has completed course on 100 hours IT Training.

Final Course and Admission to Final Examination
After passing PCE, a student should register for Final course, and prepare for final examination.
A candidate shall be admitted to Final Examination, if he has passed PCE and has completed the practical training of 3.5 years.

Few days ago I was just decided that i'll not write about the religions, caste systems etc because i wasn't having time for these things. But I couldn't control over myself after seeing this clash in Punjab. The worst one without no reason. I don't know people have gone mad or what .. I couldn't even understand why are they protesting and I didnt like the way they are protesting, their reason of protesting...totally bullshit....

I don't know why the people behave like that ...yaar if you really want to protest then please protest according to rules that means please follow some rules that no public property or any kind of death is caused by you ..

You burnt two trains , you put the 50 cars in fires...crowd killed the two peoples ...heay what is this ...Have you gone mad?

anyways lets talk upon this briefly ...what happened, where happened, why happened, and why are they protesting....

What Happened so that they protesting?

A Dera Deputy-Chief Niranjan Das is attacked (attempt to murder) by few people in Vienna, Austria in a Guruduwara. Since he has a number of followers so when they came to know about this incident...they started burning trains, public property, buildings, shops etc..

I couldn't understand one thing that ...this all happened in Vienna, Austria which is thousands of miles away and why are you protesting even those people have arrested who killed the Niranjan Das..

ok He is injured, 6 people are arrested who tried to kill him... then why are you protesting?

No Reason .....

why are you blaming Punjab Government and Indian Government.. what they did ...heay guys please think before saying anything ... why would Punjab Government or Indian Government will kill that Baba ... a totally un known person .. Punjab and Indian government are not having time for these foolish and unwanted things ... they have so many other problems... and also Indian Government can't provide security to every person living or travelling abroad.. Its his decision if he/she going to abroad (to any country) ... So guys please keep in mind.

You people not having the complete knowledge about the incident but still you are holding sword and forcing the shopkeepers, the bus drivers to stop their work...Parents are bringing the children back to home from the Schools. Schools, colleges, markets, everything just closed.....its like a curfew .... why like a curfew ...It is a Curfew ....

ok you say you want to protest?? ok who is stopping you ... But follow some rules yaaar..

Protest according to rules.. Don't Burn the trains ... ( You can stop the trains ...but there must be a time limit ...)

Don't force any one to close the shops etc...

If you really have the feeling of Revenge then go to Vienna and kill those persons who killed yours. But why are you killing or hurting those innocent people who did nothing ...

You can have a peaceful march.

so there lots other options to protest.....

And what you think Niranjan Das was so much clean and honest person.....lolzz..no way these deras are just a fake and they just play with the feelings of people and grab the money from them ...so guys you must be aware of all these things...

Don't waste your life in these fights, riots , clashes etc...

Kya yaar mood kharaab kar diya in riots etc ne ... i was gonna write something about my life, about "Someone" and about my friends... but .......chalo yaar fir kabhi...
